Semester 1 Modules
Photography
This module is to introduce students to the basic principles of photography. We hope to give the students a good knowledge of photography in order to develop a sense of visual style and to enhance their awareness of visual composition.
Practical work and programmes involves Film based 35mm photography where the student takes the photo, processes the film and prints the images.
Student's Thoughts
"In Photography we were given the chance to get hands on experience in the traditional experience of the creation of a visual composition and the development of an image. How we developed a negative and framed it allowed us to change the message we were trying to portray and from developing this awareness we were able to apply these principles to other course modules. Student's Thoughts
" This module was really helpful because we learnt about how popular culture can influence the media and how the media in turn influences popular culture. I found this completely engaging."
Creative Design
This module allows students to explore and further develop their creativity through the medium of arts and crafts.

Student's Thoughts
"Since I am not the most artistic person in the world I wasn't sure what to make of this module. I struggled a little to get involved with it at the start but by the end of the semester I realised that it was one of the best classes we could have done. Not only did I learn some alternative methods of self expression but I had a lot of fun. "
