Facilities

The Department of Music and Creative Multimedia’s facilities include lecture rooms, tutorial rooms, computer labs, a theatre and a TV studio.

Each student has the opportunity to use one of 47 Apple G4 desktop computers as well as one of 30 revolutionary Apple G5 desktops.There are two G4 Power Book laptops also available.

There is a media 100 editing suite as well as 3 Apple production suites including DVD studio and Final Cut Pro.

There is a full range of cameras such from manual SLRS to digital still cameras.

 

There are 2 portable mini disc recording units and 10 Digital audio/midi workstations (Digidesign002), and 20 Digidesign 001 workstations.

There are over 30 studio grade headphones and a wide selection of microphones.

The department has a wide range of industry standard software. The department holds licences for the following software: 

Adobe Photoshop,  Adobe Illustrator and Premiere, Macromedia Director, Dreamweaver, Flash, Freehand, and Fireworks, Digi-design Pro tools, Reason ,Cubase, 3-D Studio Max
Apple Final Cut Pro HD, Apple DVD Studio Pro, Apple Quicktime VR Studio WEB CT and Microsoft Office

 

The college has a facility called ‘The Bright Room’ which is a high definition post-production facility. This facility is equipped with world class technologies including High Definition (HD) Discreet Smoke, HD Final Cut Pro, HD Pro-tools and voice recording booth and a large Render farm and is the first of its kind on the island of Ireland. the bbright room facility is the fist of its kind in Ireland
